Woodbine Beach

If the weather had been rainy on August 16th, we wouldn't have gone to the beach and had all the fun and enjoyment in walking and playing in such a beautiful sunny day. The children were very excited and had a great time in playing on the sand with each other.
I would like to tell you how I spent my day on the beach. Usually I like to discover the areas which I am visiting for first time, so I walked on the boardwalk till the end of Woodbine beach and then I came back trying to find a good place to swim on the beach. Finally my efforts were successful and managed to find a place to swim. The water was little cold, but what irritated me is that dogs were swimming in the water although there is a rule that dogs are not allowed to go in the water at the beach. Moreover, when I went to the end of the beach, I read a sign showing that the area after Woodbine allowed the dogs to go in the water. I explained that to the lifeguard, but he told me that it is not his job and some another people should come and check for that.
In conclusion, I found the beach an awesome place where everybody can enjoy it on their own way. For instance, there are parks for kids, in addition to long paths for those who want to bike, skate, walk or jog. Moreover, people can play volleyball, swim, sit, read, make party and many other things.

Success story

I found the blog in our class very useful because  there is something new every day. Moreover, I am now more confident to write in my blog and to express my ideas smoothly. Although I am still making mistakes, I am happy that I am improving in my writing.

Picasso Uncrating Begins

"Picasso did, and the easy way to think about it, is that he painted about the way you think, and the way you remember something, and not just the way you see it."

Canada Day

In the evening, I sat on the balcony with my family to watch the fireworks.  My daughter asked me, “why are the fireworks not of the same size?” I thought for few seconds and told her, “Maybe it is because the smaller fireworks are used in backyards whereas the big ones are used in larger celebrations.”  She was silent for little while and then told me that she loves Canada Day because she loves watching fireworks. I asked her, “What did you make on Canada Day?” She answered very quickly, “I made the best Canadian flag in my class, and I sang the anthem”.
After that I sat with myself and began to think who has more patriotism: The wealthy or the poor. Actually back home the majority of poor are more patriotic than the rich, but in Canada I don’t know. I think patriotism is not measured by one's economic status but rather with the way that people raise their children and teach them to love Canada.

Driving in Toronto

Yesterday on June 12, I had an appointment downtown and had to take Highway 401. This was not my first time driving downtown via 401, but yesterday I faced some drivers who drove very slowly and other drivers who changed lanes without looking or sometimes without giving any signal.
I have faced similar problems like that, but yesterday I was shocked by the number of drivers who weren't following the driving rules.

The War of 1812

The war of 1812 against the Americans was the first battle leading to the creation of a new Canada.
